Production Terms

CMYK

Refers to the four primary colors, cyan, magenta, yellow and black, which are applied in varying percentages in four-color process printing to create virtually any color.

Film

The actual photographic plates that are produced, one per color, to be used in most printing processes. In silk screening, the plates are used to expose the screens, which will let the ink through in the same pattern as the film.

PMS Colors

Refers to the Pantone® Matching System, a standard way of describing and specifying colors. In the Pantone System, colors are identified numerically so that they may be reproduced accurately and repeatedly.

Process Color

A method for printing colors that uses three or four primary colors in varying percentages to reproduce a wide range of colors.

Spot Colors

Spot colors are reproduced with a single color of ink, usually specified by PMS number, as opposed to process colors that are created by blending primary colors.

If there is an error caused by SPS we will reprint your t-shirts at no cost. There will be no refunds on custom orders.
